Ending with an Ars Poetica

For me, writing a poem is like speaking on the page.
The silence of the blank paper is filled by the sound
of your words. The vast barren piece of white
paper like an endless dry desert.
Your thoughts add life, all the letters like a
tree making a forest
A poem to me is like an escape, someone to
listen to you as you tell them your endless thoughts
A poem is there to listen

When i make a poem
I feel free.
capable of doing anything
expressing my inner thoughts
in a way I never could’ve imagined
I feel on top of the world
like I’m in a dream
and all my feelings
are being shown in such a
beautiful way.
like marbles spilling out
of a jar
I love the feeling of when you
finish a poem
and you feel so determined and accomplished
that’s why I love poems

Writing a poem is like climbing
a volcano.
There’s always hard parts.

that flow together like a stresm
It’s satisfying to hear and read.
Poems are confusing, hard and frustrating
They acquire a lot of thought.

It’s like a room with
one door
it could be
horrible

wonderful

Lead spreads across the paper
“crack”
the pencil tip breaks under the pressure
of thinking
similes and metaphors fall together like
if you’re playing tetris.
Your memories fall on to the paper in word form.
like the clicking of puzzle pieces the writing is complete.
You drop your pencil and let the poem settle.

Poems are joy
poems are tears
poems are feelings
poems are me.
poems are like Hamilton songs
fast, quick, and amazing.
