Editing Greatness

Hello again, readers! It’s hard to believe, but we are near the end of our time together at Kozminski. Last week was a relaxed one. We spent our time together editing past poems, polishing them until we were happy with them. Editing isn’t an easy practice, but it takes poems from good to great. Here are some poems that got a little extra love from their writers:

4th Grade

Sun & Moon Aiden F. & Morgan B.

Moon drops are the gravity of space

Sun drops are like the yellow sunflowers

Moon drops are moody as a storm

Moon drops are always mad as a bull

Moon drops like to eat space food.

Moon drops like to use anything that’s

BLACK

Sundrops are always in a good mood like a

Rainbow

The sun is always nice as a pool

Sundrops love to eat the yellow cheesecake.

Sundrops like to use anything that’s YELLOW

Moondrops can be mean but sundrops are as nice as a flower

Universe Poem Jahylen B.

In the universe of my brain

a lot of thoughts are running and skipping

and they wouldn’t notice if a pipe was leaking.

The thoughts are floating like rockets

and also they forget money in their pockets.

Stars are laughing and Mars is gagging

because he saw the moon eating a salad.

5th Grade

Starfire Janelle H.

Me & StarFire are both sweet

We don’t need anyone to help us

We are independent

She’s the pink to my purple

We love animals

And we both are like fire

Chicago In Two Words Cassius F.

Fun beach

Fun playground

Crispy chicken

Chill breeze

Good book

Sharp mind

Annoying cousins

Loud class

Good grades
