BINGO Poems (8th)

This week we read Fatimah Asghar’s Microaggression Bingo and discussed how each detail built up to a larger and more overwhelming whole. The students discussed how weird it felt for there not to be a particular order to read the poem in, but how it made sense for this topic and these examples. We wrote our own BINGO poems–creating a general feeling through an abundance of details. Many students thought about the stress of school and the transition to high school and many talked about special times with their friends. Please enjoy Zaira’s poem about Dawat with her family and Riddhi’s about the stress of 8th grade.
