Awesome Alliteration in Action

The 5th grade poets from Ms. Murray’s class learned about a widely used literary device, alliteration. Like rhyming, alliteration is best appreciated when hearing the poem versus reading it. It is evidence that poetry is also meant to be heard as well as read. After viewing the first hip hop video ever by the Sugar Hill Gang called “Rappers Delight” the young poets studied the use of alliteration in the lyrics. They then created their own tongue twisters that start with their names. Enjoy!
