As Simple as a Simile

The most used literary device in literature are metaphors. Similes are metaphors that specifically use the words “like” or “as”. After reading “Dreams” and “A Dream Deferred” by Langston Hughes, the poets learned about similes and metaphors in both poems to relate concepts to the reader. They then wrote their similes based on someone, or something, they love in their life. Enjoy!
