Acrostically Yours

For our 15th sessions, Swift 2nd graders sat on the rugs in their classrooms, and put on their imagination hats while I read aloud from Rob Gonsalvez’s Imagine a World. Students marveled to see images that seemed to change from one thing to another right before their eyes. “Is that book magic?” one student asked. At their desks, students read Crystal D. Giles acrostic poem, “Dimples,” before writing their own poems. Enjoy!

A Beautiful Day Alana S.

A person seeing a rainbow with joy

Better than a bumble bee
Everyone feels like they’re flying into the soft leaves on trees whssss
Angle near an apple tree falling down
Up seeing the crabs snap snap
Turtles flabbing in the sea
I am seeing all the nature
Fish are showering with water
Up seeing the crabs snap snap
Love seeing all the nature

Day with all kinds of flowers
A person full of happiness
You and me know not everything is perfect but the world is successful
