Acrostic Poems all about Christmas!

This week, we read and wrote acrostic poems! Acrostic poems spell out the name of what they are about vertically, which forces the writer to be creative with your lines and think of phrases that start with a certain letter. First, we read two former student acrostic poems, one about summer and one about Christmas time. Immediately, everyone in the class got excited to write their own poems about the upcoming holiday, Christmas, and share their poems with the class. Take a look at what they came up with!

Christmas is the best!
Hot Chocolate is the best on Christmas
Ripping open presents is the best
I love Christmas so much
Santa is going to take my cookies
Anything that I do is when staying up late
My family likes it
Another thing I do is get presents
Something I do is stay up
