Mr. Telles 9th Grade, Period One
O’ Sweet oblivion
How I long to revel in your moonless night
Where darkness resides without the influence of
the faces of angels.
O’ Sweet oblivion
A place of immense pleasure simply because you are
not covered by your regrets
A place where you are not judged by your actions
Sweet oblivion
A space without glittering gates that punish or
reward
Sweet oblivion
A place where you can just be
Disgraces tiny planet
rocky blue like ocean rocks
children’s cany bought from
corner penny stores
Too small you are about
For most to care about
Your rotations
Hideaway on the edge
Of nothing and everything
How do I warm a
Stone heart with
a surface like your own
so far from the sun
Tell me how I can bask
Under embracing warmth
in a prison cell
Oh lonely planet
but not even that
I have been told there are 8 planets
Neptune
Saturn
Mercury
Venus
Jupiter
Uranus
Mars and
Earth
It used to be your name as last on the list
But that was when there were 9.
So I ask you, Pluto,
Did you leave?
If you did was it worth regret?
For I may have never seen you in the vast oblivion,
But now I am told cast in the darkness.
There are 8, not 9
Or was it our universe just breaking away?
Pluto, the planet cast in shadow.
Mr. Telles 9th Grade, Period Five
Oh universe, where do you end?
Infinite space, oblivion forever
Too many questions without answers
Death prompting us to live life
in the dark, trying to understand
more and see through the smoke.
We have simple pleasure like
sunsets to distract us from the end.
Everyone trying to live life without
regret, ignoring that we are all mirrors
of each other.
I am Jupiter
I am loud and joyful
But I am hopeful and strong
My honesty and luck
define me
I am like Jupiter, the planet of expansion
The planet of luck and laughter
They tell me to Venus
But I do not want to be love and lazy
Soft and prim, like rose
Filled with beauty and bringing them
pleasure
But I do not want to be Venus
Every girl wants to Venus
I am not like other girls
Because I am Jupiter
the bravest and the boldest
The funniest and the noblest
With an expanding mind and joyful pride
that only Jupiter could possess.
please rise again
the struggles and regrets that come with the sun
are too much to bear
you comfort me in the evening
and let me know that even in darkness
I can still shine through
