A Look At Us

This is a collection of some of the poems students have written through out this year. Students write about what makes them feel alive, what makes them feel inspired, the memories they have and what they are imagining!

4th Grade

My Heart is Beating G'Lyani

When I think of my heart beating awake.
I think of when I have energy and nothing boring.
I think of art.
Art makes me relax and what to do it, even if I’m tired.
Some people like art because in art you can draw anything you want.
And you can free draw or you can challenge yourself
or you can scribble and after turn it into art.

What Makes Me Feel Alive Josiah

What makes me feel alive?
My friends and my family
and my brothers
and to see my grandma
and to play with my friends
and to be happy.
I’m glad to be alive
and to play soccer, and badminton
and
to play with my brother
and talk with my brother, when we see each other we talk about god.

My Forgetters Alex

I remember my B.F.F. J.B.
I remember my old N.S.
I remember Futurama.
I remember an old park I used to love a lot
and don’t go to a lot.

The Street Cleaner Kayla

The street cleaner smells the rain from this morning
and the food from down the street.
They smell the autumn day
and they taste their fruit at lunch.

This Year Isaiah

The color yellow
Smelling of fireworks, like burning.
Sounding like a loud: boom!!!
I am a komodo dragon
for: to be a better person
fire sleeping

My World Mikeyon

Basketball makes me feel awake because it’s a lot of moving around.
It makes me feel good when I make a shot.
I love to play with my friends and teammates,
I feel proud when I beat somebody bigger than me.
Especially when I verse my brother, and Elijah and London.
It feels good playing basketball with my dad.
He’s my best coach ever.

Basketball Christian

On Saturday I was at basketball
We were versing Leif Ericson school.
We started off with ten in the first half.
Next we ended with 31 + 00 in the last quarter.
The next day I got to play with my friends all day,
and I went to the mall to get basketball cards and football cards.

The Star Kaiden

…The screen turns, he turns to channel 1
Michael Jordan highlights come on.
He slam dunks on someone and he sticks out his tongue,
and stars glow around the screen.
He blocks the opponent’s shot and all you hear is: Slap!
And Jordan shoots the three and swishes!
