7th Grade- Personification Poems Pt.1

This week we got started on writing poems using personification as a tool to explore big ideas and emotions. After reading The Lament by Percy Bysse Shelley I asked students if they could ask a big question about life, what would it be and what would they ask. So many questions and ideas came flooding into the discussion. Read a few of the students poems and come back next week for the ones that are still in progress. Enjoy this week’s poets!

on your clothing to the
shoes you wear on

Oh anxiety
why are you here

why oh why
As I panic
Wondering why you’re in me
taking my breath away
I can’t breathe I say
