6th Grade- The Place We Gather Pt. 1

This week our 6th graders read Perhaps This is Where the World Ends by Joy Harjo and talked about the million and one things that can happen at a table. The living room table, the kitchen table and the lunch table were some of the places our families and friends gather to talk about food, life and everything in between. Come back and check out some more pieces next week, but in the meantime enjoy this week’s poets!

6th Grade

The Table Lathan W.

Kids crying not wanting their
food, annoying much

Mom, dad, grandma talking about
anything, like stories, crack a couple jokes
very interesting

Drama is happening with my cousins
arguing about whose turn it is on my
game take the game and
make them fight for it.

Studying for reading, god this
is a boring activity.

Kitchen Goods Jayla D.

In the kitchen it’s like a whole different life
when I walk in the kitchen it’s always a delight
I always eat after school, to eat my mom’s delicious food
I just love to play Uno
been playing since I was young
it’s always been fun
I always talk at the table
