❤️Love Poems

For our 3rd meeting, Dubois students wrote love poems inspired by Eloise Greenfield’s poem “Honey, I Love.” Enjoy a sampling, here!

Ms. Wilson 4th/5th Grade

I love Tru'zell T.

I love when the cool water hits me in the face
the water rinsing away my worries and inner
most disgraces.
Love, I love a cold shower after
summer errands, washing away the filth
and other dirty bearings.

I love laying in my warm bed, as the winter wind
blew as though it never went. Boy, I love sitting by
the fireplace as it warmed me with its rays, the
coziness making me feel it was all okay.

I love sitting in the crunchy grass with the
autumn breeze. The leaves falling to the ground
like they were traveling overseas.
I know this season isn’t the only one
I’ll ever see.

I love the seasons, the autumn, the spring
and even the cold winter although it was a
rare thing. I love the seasons so dearly, I’d
cry if there were none at all.

Mama Let Me Tell You Cameron H.

Mama, let me tell you
that I love your cooking
And let me tell you that
I love Grandma’s cooking, too.
And

Mama, let me tell you that I am
so unique. Not every kid
is American, Mexican, and German
And

Mama let me tell you that
I love you, too, and I
love my family and
Mama, I love your smile.

But, Mama, I don’t
love to go to sleep.
