Dear Valentine, Will You Be Mine?

The 5th grade poets from Avondale/Logandale wrote anonymous poems to their classmates for St. Valentine’s Day. After studying rhyme, they used the ABAB rhyme pattern to create friendships poems. They then put all of their poems into a basket. One by one, with their eyes closed, they choose a random poem from the basket. After sharing the poems, they returned them to the author. Enjoy!

5th Grade

Untitled by Kevin S. G.

You are a great friend
You are sweeter than a butterfly
I like to spend time with you until the end
You are higher than the sky

Untitled by Jayden

You have been a great classmate
You are my fave
You make me happy like cake
I hope you don’t change

Untitled by Anthony G.

You are funny like memes
You are always there for me
You make me scream
With excitement and happy

Untitled by Eva Meza

Did you fall from the sky?
Are you art?
Because you are a cutie pie
You put an arrow in my heart

Untitled by David Rivera

Dear Person,
You are so cool and so kind
You are too good to be true
Like a diamond on the sky
You are the I chose

Untitled by Julian M.

How is your day?
You must be nice
I hope your day is great
You are as small as mice
