Cento Poems

Our time together at West Park Fine Arts Academy with both of Ms. Chambers 7th grade classes has come to end. For our final lesson we did Cento Poems which are poems made from other poems. The poets selected one line from each of their previous poems to create a new poem. At the same time, poets are reviewing and editing their work. They can see the progress of their writing through the last 20 weeks. Enjoy!

Ms. Chambers 7th Grade

by Nely A.

You’re so smart
You shine bright
You have a heart full of love
You’re so special
Your name can never be a shame
Don’t blame me for your mistakes

by Santos N.

It looks like nature and the sea
I can hear the joy of the day
This city is wonderful
I have no idea
Getting up of my bed
It feels like peace
I can feel your happiness, it’s very loud
There are good people
I’m a computer
What is this something?

by Allison R.

You remind me of an angel
I can feel here anxiety
You’re soft, like a teddy bear
There’s hope
Finalize it with a cup of trust
She’s a rainbow
And an observer
It was white like clouds
Everything about you is special, there’s no replacing you

by Ruby R.

Without knowing, we crossed each other’s eyes
My tired eyes start to shine every time I see you
I am an ice cream because I am melting for your sweetness
Everyday, everynight, waiting for your lovely sweet hug
You got me so high
I want to be with you always

by Micci T.

This whole time you were a mistake to me
My life would be good without you
I’m running away beyond this freaking world
Your eyes used to shine like a diamond

by Jessica C.

It was cold
My happiness left, My happiness left
I will go to sleep
Trust
I come out at night
I am fire
Plants can’t grow here
Sometimes beautiful
