Tara Levy

Tara Levy is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist, author, playwright, curator, and arts leader based in Chicago. She is a recent winner of Definition Theatre’s Amplify New Play Festival for her original play “Well With My Soul,” inspired by her poetry collection “All is Well.” Tara is also the author and illustrator of the children’s books “I’m a Black Girl and I Matter” and “Hey Young King,” and the inspirational journal “Count It All Joy.”

As the Founder and Executive Director of the Liberated Arts Movement, Tara extends her creative practice into community, using art as a tool to inspire lives, cultivate connection, and promote wellness. Her work spans literature, theater, visual art, and community-based practice, creating meaningful stories and experiences rooted in joy, reflection, and human connection.”
