Anne Waldman
She Who Must Explicate
Because of her edgy innovation of performance, form and content Anne Waldman is recognized as one of the early pioneers of performance poetry. She is also an editor, arts administrator, and distinguished professor of writing and poetics. She is a former director of The Poetry Project at St. Marks Church in New York City, and founder (with Allen Ginsberg) of the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at the Buddhist-inspired Naropa Institute. She has authored more than 30 books of poetry.
