Born in 1991, Sahara Sunday Spain is from the Bay Area in California. She comes from a family of four generations of talented professional visual artists and musicians and her own interest drawing, music and word play became evident before her second birthday. Her first book, if there would be no light, was published by SanFranciscoHarper in 2001. Spain has read her poetry around the country and appeared on numerous shows, including the Oprah Winfrey Show.
