Louise Glück is the author of nine books of poetry including The Seven Ages (Ecco Press, 2001), is a member of the American Academy & Institute of Arts & Letters and in 2003 was named as the new judge for the Yale Series of Younger Poets. Her first Yale Younger Poet choice was Peter Streckfus, who read for The Poetry Center in February.

Vera Klement was born in the Free City of Danzig in 1929. She attended the Cooper Union School of Art in New York and subsequently moved to Chicago. Her paintings have been shown widely in this country and Europe, including the Corcoran, the Tate in London, the Kunstverein and the Walter Bischoff Gallery in Munich and the Amerika Haus in Munich and Berlin. In this country, she has exhibited at the Jewish Museum and the Walker Art Center, the Roy Boyd Gallery, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Fassbender Gallery in Chicago. Her work is in major collections in New York and Chicago.
