Yusef Komunyakaa
Lust
Sex, love and violence drive the metaphors of Yusef Komunyakaa's incantations. From Vietnam to after 9/11, he transforms incandescent moments into indelible American myths. Komunyakaa's most recent books of poetry are Pleasure Dome: New & Collected Poems, 1975-1999 and Talking Dirty to the Gods. Among his honors is a Pulizer Prize, which he received in 1995 for his book Neon Vernacular.
