The Poetry Center of Chicago offers exciting internship opportunities for undergraduate students in the Chicagoland area seeking employment at a vibrant, non-profit literary arts organization. Interns learn the inner-workings of the non-profit sector while gaining essential organizational management experience. As part of our select, dedicated team, Poetry Center interns perform a variety of daily tasks from event planning to fundraising to office management. Intern duties include: Development: Assist the Development Director to prepare grants for submission - Research new grant opportunities
- Write and edit grant proposal copy
- Maintain and update grant records
Adminstrative: - Organize files (physically and electronically)
- Data entry
- General office maintenence
Other: - Assist at Poetry Center readings and events
- Write/edit text for Poetry Center website updates
- Liase with general public, members and Poetry center staff
