March 20 & 21: Hands on Stanzas Partners with Chicago Symphony Orchestra

The Hands on Stanzas program is proud to partner with the Negaunee Music Institute at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra to present two special performances of Carnival of the Animals.

On March 20 and 21, Hands On Stanzas students will perform live on stage with members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra! Student performers will read original works by H.O.S. students, written in response to each movement in the suite.

Hands on Stanzas enriches the education of many Chicago Public School students by placing working poets in the schools to teach creative literacy through poetry. The Poetry Center of Chicago is excited to have worked closely with the CSO for many months now, implementing new texts and methods of teaching with music in the schools.

The CSO invites you to arrive at Symphony Center one hour before each performance for these activities taking place at 11am and 12:45pm each day.
