Goodbye
a poem by Aleena I., Grade 5
She's going, she's gone, we will grow
apart. Far, farther away into a new
world. It stretches, and stretches until
the rope turns to strings then it's
gone. No connection.
No contact. Good-bye.

My favorite thing is not my world
my favorite world is in my dreams
but it's my country that I dream I'm
in I would walk and talk which
is my favorite thing but it's in my
favorite world that I play in that only
I can see. My favorite world will

is Romania the place I love
to dream and be in all the time.

The Talking, Walking Television
a poem by Andres P., Grade 4
I went to the living room to see TV.
Then I bent and the TV is alive,
he said, are you gonna turn me on?
I said, yes I'm gonna turn you on to see shows.
Then he walked away.
I drew a finish line with chalk,
and it stopped.
So I watched TV until lunch.
He don't talk anymore.

My Toy
a poem by Andrew M., Grade 5
When I'm sick
I'm sad.
My toy makes
me glad.
My toy
the happiness
in that fluff.
My new toy
that goat
makes me
happy.
When it stares
at me
its happiness
makes me
happy.
I kiss it
it makes
me glad.
My toy.
