Farewell, 4th Grade!

Our 10 weeks of poetry flew by far too quickly, and yesterday marked our final 4th grade classes. It’s never easy ending a residency, but we did so the best we could. I brought in some of my own poems to share with the students, and then they were asked to choose their favorites from among those written this year, which they also shared. It was a pleasure to work again with the many incredible young poets from two years ago, when we studied poetry in 2nd grade, and to meet a number of students who were new to the program as well. Everyone did a fantastic job!

I’m honored to have worked with these amazing 4th grade classes! Thanks to Ms. Carlson, Mr. Chau, Mr. Cox, and Ms. Travis for welcoming me into their rooms and for all the support. I hope to be back again next year!
