Carnival of Animals!

We will be working in collaboration with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in the spring, we worked on poems that were a response to “The Carnival of Animals.” There is actually a Looney Toons special were Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck are have a competition using the entire piece of music. It’s broken up into 3 parts, but can all be found on YouTube.

At TEAM we were working with specific movements from the piece: “Pianists,” “Hens and Roosters,” “Fossils” and “Aquarium.” Check out a short clip from the Looney Toons special that is the movement entitled “Fossils” and a piece from one of Ms. Henley’s 9th graders.

The sounds were like wind blowing
when it’s real cold outside.

The sound was like Tom catching Jerry
you know that cartoon.

The sound.
