The Snow Leopard
a poem by Annie B., Grade 4
The snow leopard is incomplete. His spots are only
a fourth of what they are supposed to be. His roar
only lasts a second but then stops. He is almost
extinct. He is not a full circle.

His friends are the big hunters on the ground. His enemy
the birds in the sky. The leopard wishes he could fly and
only likes the lions and tigers because they suffer from
envy too.

The snow leopard has snow in his blood and blood on
his teeth after dinner. He could win any race with
one leap of its powerful legs. He has the personality
of a rock: He will only do what he wishes and will
not move by another's force.

Although he may sound awful, he loves his children
too and admires his best friend. He is grateful to be
alive and is grateful he has a home. He does not
wish to rule the world, only to be a part of it.
